Students from O Castro British School collect more than 2,600 euros for the Amfiv
As we had already advanced, a group of Secondary of O Castro British School promoted an initiative aimed at raising funds for Amfiv wheelchair basketball club among the school community. This initiative is part of the social action campaigns that we usually promote from school.
A work started in the first term and finished at the end of this academic year with the handing over to the president of the Vigo club, José Antonio Beiro, and Santi Comesaña on behalf of the staff, a check worth 2,661.80 euros, an incredible amount collected throughout the past academic year among the students themselves.
“For us it is a pride that they have chosen to support us and we are really surprised. We knew that they were going to carry out this initiative but we never thought they could raise such a figure, “explains the head of the Vigo team, who stresses that” the most surprising thing of all is that they were a little sorry for not being able to get more money since their intention was to have raised enough to give us a wheelchair. With the effort that sometimes costs us companies that bill millions agree to receive us and know our project and the work we do, today these children have given us all a tremendous lesson in solidarity” he adds.
