More than 400 students meet at the NACE Olympic Games
The first British school in Galicia hosts this week the seventh edition of the NACE Olympic Games, a sports competition that since 2012 takes place in the different educational centers of the NACE Schools group distributed throughout the European territory.
In this edition, the event will feature eight sports and more than 400 students from schools in Spain, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Andorra and Portugal between 11 and 14 years old, including Ágora Lledó, Ágora Portals, Ágora Madrid, Ágora Barcelona, Ágora San Cugat, Areteia, Rome International School, ICS London, Stonar, Southland International School, Nobel, EIB Monceau, EIB Victor Hugo, Hattemer and the host school, O Castro British School.
Since the first edition, the NACE Olympic Games were born as an integrating event between schools in Spain and Europe, in which students, teachers and families live for 4 days demonstrating that sport is a great opportunity to transmit values such as friendship, Teamwork, respect and a healthy spirit of competition.
The competition will be developed by teams composed of students from the different participating schools, in keeping with the integrating spirit that characterizes NACE events, in eight sports: football, athletics (100 and 400 meters), basketball, table tennis, frisbee, surfing and traditional games on the beach, such as the saco races, the handkerchief or the rope strip, and in three different locations: the beach of Patos, the sports complex of the University of Vigo and the school facilities in Mos.
