How to control the spread of the virus at school

We are living a delicate moment regarding the evolution of the pandemic, added to which we are entry into the months of November and December, and with them the inevitable arrival of the flu. Although there are many elements that come into play, such as the luck factor, responsibility, respect and strict hygiene and protection measures are often the perfect ingredients to deal with the spread of this “bug”.

Our Head of Nursing at the school, Montse Pérez, would like to share some very useful advice to help control the spread of Covid-19 more thoroughly. We hope they help, both inside and outside the classroom.

Masks. They are the main containment barrier, so their proper use is essential. Before going to school, remember the following advice:
– Make sure they are the right size: if they are too big and fall off, they lose their barrier properties against the virus considerably.
– Choose the right type of mask, even if they are beautiful, not all masks comply with current regulations to combat this bug!
– Always wear a replacement mask, in case it gets stained, broken or wet.

Constant safety distance and hands hygiene measures. Remember to explain and encourage your children to maintain the minimum safety distance established. Time and practice will eventually make these important prevention measures a habit.

Due to our climate, we are used to living with cough, mucus or tenths of a fever in the autumn and winter months, so we will have to pay special attention to avoid confusing the symptoms. Pay attention to the following recommendations:
– Avoid hiding a few tenths with antipyretics. They can lower the temperature for a few hours, but the Covid protocol will force the centre to call immediately with temperatures of 37.5 º or higher.
– Encourage children to drink water. Many times, lack of hydration causes headaches or an increase in temperature, so by drinking some water we can save ourselves some scares.

Early detection of symptoms is always very important, but it is especially crucial in these times. So, you know, extreme precautions and, for any symptom compatible with the Covid-19, stay at home. Because prevention is one of our most powerful weapons in this battle.
