Last Saturday, O Castro British School Extracurricular Activities Festival was held at the auditorium of Valladares Cultural Centre. Family and friends packed the auditorium in order to see the performance of our young artists.
This year’s festival was very varied. There was a little bit of live music thanks to Uke & the Leles and to Aurora and Paula, who delighted the audience with the debut of their new single which was written by them.
The audience was warmed up by the performances of the school rock band. They performed great hits such as “Castle on the Hill” by Ed Sheeran, or “ Where is My Mind?” by Pixies.
The rhythmic gymnastic exhibition also amazed the audience. The artistic precision of Y1 and Y2 groups in “Swing & Blues” and the talent of Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 gymnasts in their show “Blow Your Mind” were remarkable.
The musical theatre surprised the audience with the reinterpretation of Disney Classics such as “Frozen” and “The Lion King”. Our Y1 and Y2 artists carried out their performances with panache. “Summer Loving”, the popular song from the musical Grease, was also performed.
The event, which was a day full of talent and fun, ended on a high note thanks to a brilliant and well-performed piece entitled “El País de los Sueños” [The Country of Dreams]. The choreography, an original creation by our choreograph Almudena, was perfectly dramatised by our ballet and Spanish dance groups.
A big round of applause for everybody!
We look forward to seeing you next year!
