Our students at O Castro British School have had today a day full of curiosity and discoveries related to the exciting world of science.
Year 3 and Year 6 students held a science contest which was organised by Javier Martínez, a Dad from the school.
At the same time, Year 4 and Year 5 students discovered some of the technical applications of solar power, thanks to Rafael Alonso. Among the daily uses of this alternative energy, the use that really caught the attention of the students was the possibility of frying an egg with a satellite dish and a few rays of sunlight.
Apart from that, all the students in the school visited the wonderful butterfly farm that was set up on the school premises. It has been an unforgettable experience for our students who were able to see live the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly.
If you find it interesting, do not forget that next Saturday, 9th April, from 1pm onwards, both the butterfly farm and Rafael Alonso and his solar cooker will be at the school for the open day for Science week 2016.
We are looking forward to your visit!
